The ruin founded is though to be a stone room belonging to a big mansion in Ottoman period and a water channel belonging to Byzantine- period .

 There are stone cutter signs written in Greek letters on the wall which is estimated to be belonging to Byzantine period (7^th century ).

The historical ruin which is estimated to have been used as “ Water channel” in Byzantine period has been protected by skylight located over the construction  and has been strengthened after renovation works  and re-animated accordingly , later on it has been put into İstanbul University’s service.
